The best friends
April 8, 2009
This post is going to sound a little constipated because only when I started writing, I realised that I dont have that much to say. And it was supposed to be posted yesterday but something went wrong with wordpress.
These are the 2 rascals.. Black and Spot (their names are very literal).
And this is Jacks (I think.. if I didn’t remember wrongly). He’s the most huggable dog I’ve ever hugged.
Taken at Yukon – one of our stops while we were in Alaska. I think he’s pretty accustomed to people hugging him and taking pictures because not only doesn’t he squirm when I hugged him, he gamely smile at the camera! I miss him! He must still be getting alot of hugs everyday at the other end of the world.
I’ve actually wanted to post this entry for some time, just that I havent had the time to do so. And just today, as I was writing up the post, Ting told me that Austen, her 5-year-old golden retriever passed away in the morning. To say that my heart dropped to my stomach was an understatement; and there wasn’t anything much I could say in consolation. =( Though I don’t know Austen that well, I remember him as a very amicable dog who has a very comfortable relationship with people. It’s always hard to lose something so dear.

Funny Conversation with Taxi Driver about Golden Retriever
Early morning when on the way to work.
Driver: *honk at Black Hairy Dogs along the Orchard Road*
Driver: Aiya, see this black dogs, never smile back at me. So unfriendly. Usually if I see dogs, I will honk them and see if they smile at me.
Me (thought to myself): *HUH??!!!? Dogs can react to honks? siao!
Me: How do u see if the dogs smile? The hair all cover the face liao mahz…
Driver: Golden Retrievers if you honk at them right, they will open their mouths and like panting like that lorz…like smiling at me mahz…
Me: Oh ok..interesting
